Faith and I just returned from a relaxing vacation week on the west coast of Florida. I took quite a few photos during this week, and being way behind in processing, it will be a while before I get the images from last week ready. However, I did spot a couple of favorites from our week that I’ll share here.
One of my favorite places to visit while we’re over there is Fort DeSoto which is at the mouth of Tampa Bay. There are wonderful opportunities there for sunrises, and of course, lots of opportunities for avian images. One of the iconic landmarks in Tampa Bay is the Sunshine Skyway bridge that connects St. Petersburg with Bradenton and Sarasota. I always try to get over to Fort DeSoto before sunrise so as to capture the sun rising over the bridge.
The clouds were not all that cooperative in order to get the rising sun between the two suspension piers, but I am pleased with a pair of images I took one morning. Click an image to view larger.
We were also treated to some gorgeous sunsets right from the beach outside the beach house we rented. I just love having high thin clouds in a sunrise or sunset. The colors in the sky and reflected back down can lead to some beautiful images.
More to come…
