Sandhill Crane Exhibition

Yes…I’m still 6+ months behind on processing images. I really want to do better, but life is just getting in the way.

Here is a series of images from Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland taken back in March. Jess and I went out there to search for the Sandhill Crane family and we were not disappointed. After a lackluster sunrise (ok…there was no sunrise), we proceeded to hit the trails in search of the adults and 2 chicks. It didn’t take long to spot them coming across the marsh and out on the trails to feed and explore. Before long, one of the chicks got a little bit of enthusiasm and put on a nice show for us.

It was a fun morning out there, even if Jess did try to kill me on the trails. I’m already looking forward next spring to watch these little cuties again.

A good hike with a great lens never hurts anybody!

Love the shots and the story told by your captions. I can’t wait for next March!
